What makes a computer choosing random numbers, start at 3, or 5, or 3027846?
A computer starts somewhere. It starts with a bios and a CPU and a motherboard ect… When we code that computer to pump out a random number, what makes it pick the number it picks? Exactly the same computer sits beside it's identical and they both pick different 1st random numbers. Is the Bios fed a seed during construction and every new bios gets a different seed? Those of us that have worked with random numbers know what a seed is. So why does my computer give a number between 100 and 1000 as 756, but yours gives, 537? Is that not a form of intelligence beyond that of artificial? We gave the computer the ability to give random numbers, but what makes it give or pick that random number when in reality it has no 'will' to decide. Why 3 and not 4, when it favours nothing? Even with a seed, what makes it choose 5 with this seed but 7 with that seed? Where in the ruels of life does it say that, with this seed equaling 756395837 in that computer, 1st random # will be this?

My daughter has a computer in her room and no printer. How can she do her homework on her computer, but have it print out on the printer in my room? Do I need the internet on one computer or both? Maybe not at all?

How do I get computer to turn off automatically after a period of inactivity?
A friend has a computer that turns itself off after a certain period of time of inactivity. And all you have to do is move the mouse a little, and the computer comes back on. Maybe the computer is not completely off, maybe this is called hibernate or standby or something. Is this a good thing to do or should I just let my computer run? How do you get the computer to do this auto shut off thing as I described at the start of this paragraph?

My computer with itunes crashed, just installed itunes on new computer. How to keep ipod from syncing to it?
I just installed a new itunes on a different computer, and I want to manually sync some videos to my ipod. What I need to know if if I plug my ipod into the computer(which is FILLED with my music) will it start to synchronize right away to the empty itunes list? I don't want to loose my music on there! How do I make sure that doesn't happen?

How to transfer files from a computer that will only run in safe mode?
I have an old computer that gets a blue error screen (when trying to boot up), then auto-restarts. The only way to access this computer is through safe mode.

I have purchased a new computer, but still need some important tax info off the old one, for my 2008 taxes.

I have never transferred files from one computer to another, let alone from one that only boots up on safe mode to the other.

If this is not possible, is there another way I can get the files on my new computer?

Gary Mckinnon talks about his extradition to the USA live on GMTV. The daily mail has started a campaign to stop the? extradition. The home secretary Alan Johnson can stop this so bombard him with letters and calls about it.
My computer freezes whenever i start a video call on IMs?
Whenever i start a video call/ web cam/voice call on live messenger, skype, google talk, yahoo messenger, my computer totally freezes, and gives an echo. I have to restart it manually. Sometimes it comes with a blue screen, and it restarts itself.
I am using Vista, and this situation existed when i had XP on this computer. What is wrong? Hardware problems? There is no virus detected after i scanned the computer with Kaspersky.
